Prior to the General Election the Conservatives favoured a voluntary ‘insurance’ style scheme with individuals making a one off payment of £10,000 on retirement to fund any potential long term care, thereby removing assets such as the home from any funding assessment. The Lib Dems had called the system unfair but had not suggested any clear solution.

The latest information Ethical Investors has received on the Quadris Environmental Fund is that the underlying investments are operating normally, and the assets are all accounted for. There has been a problem relating to the administration of the fund which Quadris is seeking a resolution to. Until this time the fund remains suspended, meaning assets cannot be bought or sold.
